April 1 - The ENOUGH Campaign, along with Connecticut Against Gun Violence, Newtown Action Alliance, The Brady Campaign, Moms Demand Action, and more than 20 other gun violence prevention organizations are taking action in response to an April 5, 2014 gun rights rally to be held at the CT state Capitol in Hartford.
The coalition has created a national Thunderclap - an action-based social media organizer - to amplify the voices of the 90% of Americans who are in favor of background checks. The purpose of the Thunderclap is to thank those legislators who voted YES for gun violence prevention and safety and to let them know that they have our support. The Thunderclap blasts out to hundreds of thousands of gun safety supporters on Apr 05 at 12 noon, the time of the gun rally. The rally is run by a local arm of the NRA, NRA supporters, and those who are against background checks on gun sales and gun reform in general.
